Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide tailored recommendations for people with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals to enhance quality of life.
  • Lead the development of innovative, client-centered allied health services in the region.
  • Therapy/training provided to clients on either a 1:1 or group setting to build communication and practical solutions that lead to greater social connectedness and independence
  • Ensure clinical services demonstrate excellence, quality, and current evidence-based practice,
  • Act as a consultant to other professionals including Able Australia staff, caregivers and local community in relation to occupational therapy and practical support options.
  • Participate in client individual service plans, case conferences, team meetings and program meetings as required.

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

  • Approved qualifications/degree in Allied Health, recognized by the relevant peak body
  • Current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) or other equivalent membership
  • Experience in providing client support and Allied Health services in person and/or through other communication mediums (e.g. Telehealth)
  • Broad knowledge of technology, including relevant Assistive Technology to support independent living
  • Experience supporting people with disability, including diverse and indigenous backgrounds
  • Ability to practice reflectively, and engage openly in group and individual supervision
  • Auslan Skills, or a willingness to learn.
